Student Organic Farm, University of Minnesota
The University of Minnesota Student Organic Farm, which is cosponsored by the Departments of Horticultural Science, Agronomy & Plant Genetics, and the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture, has been in organic transition since it was founded four years ago.
The farm was granted USDA Organic certification at the end of summer 2008, following three years of organic transition with annual inspections by the Minnesota Crop Improvement Association.
Many undergraduates get involved with the farm through a class offered by the Department of Horticultural Science.
This video tells the history of the farm and highlights some of its recent accomplishments.
